Lorelle's "Blogging Tips" is a Must-Have

Lorelle VanFossen of Lorelle on Wordpress blog fame, has recently written a book on blogging tips, appropriately titled, Blogging Tips: What Bloggers Won’t Tell You About Blogging. I received my copy last week and after paging through it, there is an incredible wealth of valuable tips here for the casual or serious blogger. I let my wife take a look at the book, he she didn't want to give it back (she's a blogger as well).

English Blog Pinging Services

Continuing on with my quest to build a comprehensive blog pinging service consisting of both a ping service aggregator, such as Ping-o-matic, and adding servers not pinged by them, I have compiled a list on known ping servers. The below list contains only those ping services that suport English language blogs:

My next task is to use this list for a bit and then filter out those services that error out. I'll then exclude those already pinged by Ping-o-matic and Autopinger. Later posts will provide a list of non-English services and specialized one, for podcasts and such.

I am on a quest to build a comprehensive listing of ping servers for my WordPress blogs. There are a few good links out there, but some of the information hasn't been updated in a few years. I've consulted the WordPress Codex, WordPress Compressed All-Inclusive Ping List, and One Click Multiple Blog Services Pinging Tools. They haven't kept completely current with new ping server offerings and the decline of others. Ping-o-matic, which is probably the most widely used ping service, doesn't even have Google listed.
